Shirley J. Hoover

Shirley J. Hoover, 84, of The Villages, Florida, and formerly of Oak Harbor, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 30, 2019, with her son and daughter-in-law by her side. Shirley was born on March 31, 1935 to the late Milton & Lyla (Hetrick) Depner. She lived in Oak Harbor until 1997, and was a very active member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, enjoyed bowling, spending time with her family and friends, and taking long walks with her dog Max. Shirley moved to The Villages, Florida in 1997, where she enjoyed playing pickle ball, rollerblading, reading, spending time with her puppy Kooper, and gathering at the pool with a special group of friends. Shirley enjoyed spending time with her honorary grandchildren, Connor Blatt and Taylor Blatt, who brought so much joy to her and always kept her smiling and laughing. She will forever be close at heart and never forgotten. She is survived by her son, Jay (Lisa Reynolds) Hoover; daughters, April Perkey, and Jill (Joe) Allen; grandchildren, Keith Dickens, Brian Dickens, Kandall Perkey, Raegan Perkey, Danielle Rance, Michael Cancellari, and Lyla Cancellari; great-grandchildren Alayna Dickens, Aaliyah Cancellari, and Malachi Owens; and brother Ronald Depner. She was preceded in death by sister-in-law Pat Depner. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor.
