Sherri Louise Harder, 57, peacefully passed away due to a decline from Alzheimer’s on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Valley View Health Campus, Fremont, OH with her family by her side. Sherri was born April 23, 1965 and spent her early years with the Amish Community at Sunny Haven Children’s Home before moving closer to immediate family near Oak Harbor at the Luther Home of Mercy Group Homes. Sherri spent her later years residing with her nieces, and caregivers, Terri (Bruce) Stone and Tonia (Lorne) Tice and their families before moving into Valley View Health Campus last year.
Sherri was a child at heart with a strong love for Jesus. She enjoyed singing on the microphone at Church, going on Disney trips with her family, drinking purple pop, listening to Christian music, coloring with her “kids”, and sewing. She participated in bowling and basketball in the Special Olympics. While at Valley View, Sherri was named “Little Miss Sunshine” which was an award created just for her because she loved making people smile. She had the ability to teach others the simple things in life, like enjoying a fresh box of crayons, noticing the sunshine, watching the pink sunsets, and drinking a fresh root beer.
There are too many family members to list, as Sherri viewed everyone as her grandparent, cousin, or kid. She had families at St. John Lutheran Church in Rocky Ridge, Solomon Lutheran Church in Woodville, Riverview Industries and Barnside Creamery in Oak Harbor, Country Hair Creations in Woodville, and Valley View Health. She loved her kids (nieces and nephews), babies, family, and being an aunt to so many. Her favorite four legged animal was Mia, her black labradoodle.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-8pm at Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor. Funeral Services will begin at 11am on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at St. John Lutheran Church, Rocky Ridge with Rev. Holli Burkard officiating. Burial will be in Elliston Cemetery. Memorial Contribution may be made to St. John Lutheran Church, Rocky Ridge or Solomon Lutheran Church, Woodville. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.crosserpriesmanfuneralhome.com.
