Sherol A. Koskela

Sherol A. Koskela, 65, of Port Clinton, OH and formerly of Napoleon, OH, died Thursday, September 7, 2006 at the Medical University of Ohio in Toledo. She was born April 22, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan, a daughter of Frederick and Sylvia (Schroeder) Riedel. Sherol was a registered nurse at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, Ohio. She previously was the director of parish nursing for the Episcopal Church of Northern Ohio and had worked as a registered nurse for the Fulton County Health Center, Wauseon, OH and St. Luke’s Hospital, Maumee, OH. She was a former member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon and St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Port Clinton. She was a graduate of Owens Technical College where she received her R.N. degree and she received her B.S. degree from Concordia College. Surviving are sons David S. Koskela of Fremont, OH and Bradley W. (Mindy) Koskela of Port Clinton; daughters Deborah (Rick) Miller of Napoleon and Julianne (Bowen) Loeffler of Port Clinton; 9 grandchildren; sisters, Trudy (Richard) Hergesheimer of Vancouver, British Columbia, and Carolyn Kennedy of Taylor, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Frederick Riedel and a sister, Jerlene Erkfritz. The family will receive friends from 12 noon Thursday until the time of services at 3:00 P.M.. at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton. Interment will be in Catawba Island Cemetery. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the St. Paul Lutheran School, American Heart Association or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
