Scottie A. Barnett

Scottie A. Barnett, 44, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, died Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, Ohio. He was born in Kingsport, Tennessee on May 13, 1968, a son of Sam & Darlene Barnett. Scottie worked as an auto mechanic for 23 years. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends as well as watching football and NASCAR racing. Scottie especially loved watching WWE wrestling with his son Noah and enjoyed golf with his son Sean. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca (Taylor) Barnett; father, Sam Barnett, Port Clinton; sons, Sean Barnett and Noah Howey, both of Oak Harbor; step-children, Misty (Nick) Vanness, Cody (Mallory) Howey, both of Oak Harbor and Jena Howey of Michigan; brother, Brian (Tanya) Barnett, Port Clinton; sisters Tamara (Danny) Newton, Kentucky, and Amy (Joby Goodman) Slauterbeck of Oak Harbor; grandchildren, Taylor, Mason, Olivia, Paxton, Julia, Hudson, Izabelle, and Lincoln. Also surviving are 5 nieces, 12 nephews, and 1 great nephew. Scottie was preceded in death by his mother, Darlene Barnett. The family will receive friends from 2-5 P.M. Wednesday at Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor, where funeral services will be held at 5 P.M. Following the service, there will be a luncheon and gathering at the Portage Fire District station, 242 W.
