Sarah Sharples

Sarah Sharples, 74 of Oak Harbor, OH died following a brief illness Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo. She was born January 4, 1937 in Belfast, Northern Ireland to the late James and Sarah (Bamford) McKinnell. She completed her education in Northern Ireland. On December 20, 1958 she married Bryan Sharples. Sarah was a homemaker who had a passion for gardening, poetry and writing. She absolutely loved the English language and singing. Survivors include her husband of 52 years Bryan; children: Tony Sharples, Mark (Lesley) Sharples, and Wendy Sharples all of Oak Harbor; sister Violet Fox of Oak Harbor; 6 grandchildren and 11 great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers: Jack, Reggie, Jimmy, James and Dennis McKinnell and sisters: Lily, Ruby, Alice, Minnie and Sylvia. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 4, 2011 from 2-8pm at the Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor, with funeral services following at 8 P.M..
