Sarah J. Hartley, 87, of Port Clinton, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2024 at Edgewood Manor Rehabilitation and Healthcare. She was born July 22, 1937 in Findlay, Ohio to Frank and Mable (Mitchell) Crawfis.

She graduated from Findlay High School in 1955. She was the owner of Town & Country Dance Studio in Castalia and later moved her studio to Sandusky in the 1970’s. She also helped with theater productions doing choreography for the Town & Country Theater in Norwalk, Ohio. When she was in her early 50’s she went back to school and earned her college degree in Business Management at Owens Community College which had been a life long goal. She lived at the Vineyard on Catawba for many years where she was involved in many clubs and activities. After she retired, she volunteered at Ida Rupp Public Library for several years.

Surviving are her daughters: Debbie (Bob) Redmond of Port Clinton and Dawn (Charles) Peterson of Toledo; three grandchildren: Greg (Emily) Allen of Kettering, Brooke Peterson of Toledo and Brandi Peterson of Oak Harbor; five great-grandchildren: Zacherie, Jordan, Trenton Connor and Evelyn. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Orlo Hartley and her son: Donald Allen. A private memorial service will be conducted with family at a later date. Donations can be made to an organization of the donor’s choice.
