Sara Mendoza Reyes

Sara Reyes, 92 of Oak Harbor, OH died peacefully Monday, May 29, 2023 at her home. She was born January 31, 1931 in Nuevo Leon, Mexico to the late Nicholas and Felicitas (Padron) Mendoza. She came to the United States in 1949 and lived in Northern Ohio until her passing. On May 22, 1954 she married Ernesto S. Reyes who preceded her in death on March 19, 2013. They settled in Oak Harbor, OH the following year where they remained throughout their lives.

Her joy was her faith, her family and being a mother to three wonderful children and five grandchildren. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Oak Harbor. Following her retirement from Jeep Corporation in Toledo, OH, she worked many years with local Catholic religious service organizations providing support and aid to migrants and the needy.

Survivors include her sons: Ernesto Reyes & Eduardo Reyes; daughter: Diana Gonzalez; grandchildren: Benjamin E. Reyes, Isabella S. Reyes, Sara A. Gonzalez, Alanna Reyes, and Ezekiel Reyes; sister Eloisa DeAnda; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her sister Maria Torres and brother Nicolas Mendoza Sr.

Visitation will be Monday from 2-8pm at Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at St. Boniface Catholic Church with Rev. Ted Miller Celebrant. Committal will be held Privately by the family at Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum, 5725 Hill Ave., Toledo, OH 43615.
