Sandra K. Taylor

Sandra K. Taylor, 61, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, died Thursday, November 27, 2008 at Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton, Ohio. She was born in Port Clinton on October 7, 1947, a daughter of John & Betty (Whitlock) Halstead. Sandra was a homemaker and was an accomplished seamstress, enjoying quilting, cross stitching, and other types of needlework. She also enjoyed gardening and spending time with her six grandchildren. A loving daughter, Sandra cared for both of her parents in their later years. On February 4, 1970, she married Carl Taylor, and he survives. Also surviving are daughters, Sara E. (John) Smarkel, Oak Harbor, Lisa (Todd) Spaide, Grapevine, TX; special nieces, Lindsey Halstead, and Erin Halstead, both of Toledo, Ohio; brothers, Stan Halstead and Sam (Cathy) Halstead, both of Catawba Island, and Mike Halstead, Kona, Hawaii; grandchildren, Aaron, Dillon, Summer, and Laney Spaide, and Calleigh and Cooper Smarkel. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Mark Halstead. Friends are invited to call from 2-8 P.M. Sunday at the Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor, where the family will be present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday at the funeral home, with interment in Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, or Mid-County E.M.S.
