Sandra C. (Covert) Elwing

Sandra (Covert) Elwing, 69, formerly of Oak Harbor, OH died Saturday, October 11, 2008 at the Goerlich Center in Sylvania, OH. She was born May 22, 1939 in Wyandot County, OH to the late Clarence A. and Modest C. (Cochenour) Covert. She was a 1957 Graduate of Salem- Oak Harbor High School. On June 14, 1958 she married Richard O. Elwing. Sandra was a homemaker who loved to garden and cook. Survivors include her husband Richard Elwing of Rockford, ILL; children: Tom (Alicia) Elwing of Pickerington, OH, Sharon (Dennis) Cunningham of Charlotte, NC, Shelley (J.R.) Nunn of Jacksonville, FL, and Todd Elwing of Las Vegas, NV; brothers: Dean (Sally) Covert of Michigan, Larry (Faye) Covert of Perrysburg, OH, Jim (Linda) Covert of Pennsylvania; sister Judy (Bart) Hanus of Temperance, MI; and 6 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson Nolan Christopher Nunn. Friends are invited to call from 4-8 P.M. Monday at the Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor where funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday, October 14, 2008. Rev. Keith A. Hunsinger will officiate, and interment will be in Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Goerlich Center or to a charity of the donor's choice.
