Ruthellen Zipfel

Ruthellen Zipfel, 97, of Port Clinton, Ohio passed away on Friday, January 4, 2019 at Riverview Senior Healthcare Campus in Oak Harbor, Ohio. She was born on June 26, 1921 in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of the late George and Louise (Windler) Nealand. On July 29, 1940 she married Kenneth Zipfel and he preceded her in death on March 14, 1976. Ruthellen worked as a secretary at the former Erie Army Depot in Port Clinton. She was a past member of the Port Clinton Elks, Women of the Moose Lodge, and the American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include her sons, James (Janice) Zipfel, of Oak Harbor and Byron (Jeanette) Zipfel of Carolton, Texas; grandchildren, Jeffrey Zipfel, Jamie Lee Zipfel and Casey Jo Zipfel; nephews, Robert Zipfel, Edwin Nealand. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother, William Nealand her sister, Marjorie Caldwel, and her grandson, Marcus Zipfel. Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 1 pm at Willow Cemetery, 1961 Pickle Road, Oregon, Ohio 43616.
