Ruth Rochester

Ruth (Stuart) Rochester, Age 81 of Fremont, Ohio passed away at Fremont Memorial Hospital on Saturday, February 21, 2009. She was born February 15, 1928 to Nelda and Earl Stuart in Dunn Center, North Dakota. She married Norman Rochester on October 27, 1946 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin who survives. She worked at Erie Army Depot for 16 years, Defense Contract Administration Office in Toledo, and a short time for the Social Security Administration Office. She retired from National Credit Union Administration in 1982 with 31 years of Federal government service. She treasured time with her family. She enjoyed outdoor activities of boating, fishing, bowling and golf. She and her husband spent their winters in Florida for 21 years. Also, she was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church for over 50 years. Surviving are her daughter Cindy and Son-in law Doug Harris of Methuen, Massachusetts; Daughter-in law Laura Rochester and friend Al Hancock of Valparaiso, Indiana; Grandson Ryan (Dawn) Rochester and Great-granddaughter Kaitlyn Rochester of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Granddaughter Tracy (Ira) Biggs of Kouts, Indiana. Preceding her in death are her son, Ray Rochester, her parents, sister, and three brothers. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at 1:00 pm with visitation from 11:00 am -1:00 pm at Crosser Funeral Home, with interment in Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sandusky Seventh-day Adventist Church at PO Box 377, Sandusky, OH 44871-0377.
