Ruth Mccumber

Ruth McCumber, 82, of Port Clinton, died Friday February 19, 2010 at Edgewood Manor Nursing Center. She was born August 6, 1927 in Pine Grove, West Virginia, the daughter of Richard and Ethel (Cunningham) Fluharty. Ruth was the owner and operator of McCumber's Cottages for many years and later was the manager for Breezy Acres for over 20 years. Surviving are her husband Stanley E. McCumber, Sr. whom she married on May 9, 1946; son Richard McCumber of Marblehead; daughter-in-law Carol McCumber of Catawba Island; grandchildren Christopher (Jen) McCumber of Fort Wayne, IN and Erin McCumber of Catawba Island and great-grandchildren Jalen and Shilynn McCumber. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, son Stan E. McCumber, Jr., a brother Carl and a sister Doris. Friends may call from 5-8 pm Monday at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, Marblehead where funeral services will be at 11 am Tuesday. The Rev. David Gowen will officiate. Burial will follow in Clemons Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
