Ruth M. Hetrick

Ruth M. Hetrick, 96 of Elmore, OH died Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at her home under Hospice Care. She was born October 22, 1928 to Arthur and Mary (Finn) Clabaugh. She would later be adopted by Charles and Ethel Schroeder. Ruth was a 1946 Harris-Elmore High School. On October 11, 1950 she married James R. Hetrick who preceded her in death March 31, 2011. She worked as a secretary for her husband, Jim, who was an insurance representative. She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Elmore. In her early years she was involved in local mother’s club and card clubs. Later in life she enjoyed spending her summers at the cottage on Lake Erie.

Survivors include her daughter Janet Davis of Elmore, OH; grandchildren: David (Kelly) Picciuto, Christine (Marc) Medina, Daniel Davis, and Brittany Hetrick; great-grandchildren Tyler Martikan; great-great grandchild Kade Martikan; and sister Joyce Kontak. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Paul Hetrick; sisters: Betty Hilt, Faye Deitemyer, and Bertha Leppert; and brother Chuck Schroeder.

Graveside Services will begin at 11am on Wednesday, January 8, 2024 at Harris-Elmore Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to Southern Care Hospice or Humane Society of Ottawa County.
