Ruth M. Flewelling

Ruth M. Flewelling (Monak), born March 31, 1929 in Marblehead, Ohio to the late Peter and Sophia Monak, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2024 at the Genoa Retirement Village in Genoa, Ohio. Loving wife of the late Harry Flewelling, sister to the late Dorothy and brother-in-law Lewis Poggiali, sister to the late Janice and brother-in-law Phil Timko, and late nephew Philip Timko. Ruth is survived by nephews, Dean Poggiali (Janet), Peter Poggiali, Anthony Poggiali (Suzanne), niece Rebecca Timko (Gino Palladino) and their respective families, numerous cousins, and friends. Ruth, a lifelong residence of the Marblehead Peninsula. graduated from Danbury Township High School and was employed by several businesses in the Marblehead and Port Clinton area.

The family also expresses our gratitude to Ralph DeVore, Dolly Dress, Tom and Pam Dray, Jake Pietchocki, and Mike Conrad for all their kindness over the years. In addition, the family thanks the staff of the Genoa Retirement Village and Hospice of Northwest Ohio.

The family of Ruth will be receiving friends for a visitation and celebration of Ruth’s life at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 E. Harbor Rd., Lakeside-Marblehead, OH Ohio, Friday, December 13, 2024 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am. Funeral services with Father Alexander Garklavs will be conducted at 11:30 am Friday in the funeral home. Private family burial and graveside service will take place at Catawba Island Cemetery 4822 E. Cemetery Rd, Port Clinton, OH 43452 immediately after.
