Ruth Eunice Collins

Ruth Eunice Collins, 89, of Bloomville, Ohio and formerly of Port Clinton, Ohio, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky, Ohio. She was born on December 1, 1924 in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of the late Edward and Bessie Godenschwager. On February 3, 1945 she married Walter Collins and he preceded her in death on January 21, 2005. Ruth worked for American Greetings of Cleveland, Ohio delivering cards to various stores throughout the area until her retirement in 1982. She was an avid BINGO player, traveling to wherever there was a game being played in the local area. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, gardening, baking, and cooking dinner for her family on Sunday. Survivors include her grandson: Phillip (Lori) Collins of Bloomville, Ohio; great-grandchildren: Kayla and Robbie Collins and her canine best friend: Bingo. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son: Gary Collins. There will be no visitation or services. Private burial will take place in Catawba Island Cemetery.
