Ruth E. Avers, 95, of Gibsonburg, OH, passed away peacefully at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg, OH, Tuesday, May 18, 2021. She was born in Woodville, OH on June 12, 1925, a daughter of the late Clarence & May (Mauntler) Radeloff. Ruth attended Solomon Lutheran School in Woodville, and was a 1943 graduate of the former Woodville High School. She was a bookkeeper at Atlas Industries, and also had worked for Roland Jacobs Insurance, Milton Sherman Insurance, Personal Finance Beneficial Management, Michigan Life Insurance, and Neale Phypers Insurance. An active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Elmore, Ruth was a member of the Christian Fellowship Club and the church choir. She also was a member of the Junior Women’s Club, Farm Bureau, and Woodville Mothers of Twins Club. On April 19, 1952, Ruth married Donald F. Avers, and he preceded her in death on October 14, 2019, after 67 years of marriage. Surviving are their children: Patricia (Dr. Mitcheal) Bowen, Muscle Shoals, AL; Janet (Mark) Wendt, Gibsonburg, OH; Janus (Doug) Perkins, Elmore, OH; and Thomas (Lori) Avers, Gibsonburg, OH; 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by sisters: Elda Mae Radeloff, Eloise Moenter, and Florence Moenter and her brother, Frederick Radeloff. Visitation will be held from 4-8 P.M. Friday at Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Elmore-Genoa Chapel, 19550 W. S.R. 51. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 412 Fremont St., Elmore, OH. Pastor Stephen Lutz will officiate, and interment will follow at Harris-Elmore Union Cemetery, Elmore.
