Ruth (Davis) Almroth

Ruth (Davis) Almroth, 83 of Walbridge, OH died Thursday, February 17, 2011 at St. Charles Mercy Hospital, Oregon. She was born February 7, 1928 in Etowah County, AL to the late William Houston and Annie May (Bearden) Davis. She was a graduate of Sardis High School, Sardis City, AL. Ruth retired in 1986 as a L. P. N. from St. Charles Mercy Hospital. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Elmore. She also held memberships in the Ladies Auxiliary of the Eagles in Fremont, Women of the Moose in Port Clinton, and American Legion Auxiliary in Elmore. Ruth enjoyed her family and friends and all her years at St. Charles taking care of the sick patients. She also liked to travel, loved working in her flowers and playing games. She also, had a love for all her animals that she had over her lifetime. Survivors include her children: James "Mike" (Shelia) Davis, Linda (Ted) Tyner and Carolyn Ayers all of Walbridge, OH; brother- in- law Bill and Joann Almroth of Elmore; 6 grandchildren, 9 great- grandchildren, and 1 great- great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husbands James M. Davis and Robert L. Almroth, son Dennis A. Davis, and brother Billy Ray Davis. Visitation will be Monday from 2-8pm at the Crosser Funeral Home, Elmore- Genoa Chapel. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at 11am at St. John's United Church of Christ, Elmore with the Rev. William L. Bartholomew officiating. Burial will be in Harris- Elmore Union Cemetery, Elmore. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ.
