Russell Merrick Ward, 73, of Lakeside-Marblehead, OH died Monday, July 21, 2014 at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, OH. He was born June 30, 1941 in Port Clinton, OH the son of Leslie E. and Mariane (Merrick) Ward. He married Mary Lynch on September 11, 1965 and she survives. Mr. Ward was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was an insurance agent in the Columbus and Indianapolis areas. He was a member of the Oak Harbor Golf club and the Marblehead American Legion. Surviving are his wife: Mary; daughter: Lesley (Robert Dennis) Ward of Silver Springs, MD; grandchildren: Ethan Dennis, Zachary Dennis; sisters: Maryanne (Curt) Laubner of Lakeside, Patricia (John) Ratcliffe of Seattle, WA. Private graveside services will be held at Sackett Cemetery, Danbury Township with Pastor Vern Shepherd Officiating. Memorials may be given to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
