Ruby E. Mcquary

Ruby E. McQuary, 97 of Elmore, OH went to be with The Lord Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Elmwood Skilled Nursing & Assisted Living, Fremont, OH. She was born December 11, 1926 in Pikeville, KY to the late Robert and Hannah (Damron) Blackburn. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Oak Harbor.

Ruby worked at General Motors in Detroit, MI, Howard Johnson’s in Toledo, OH and was a Dept. Supervisor at Rink’s Bargain City until her retirement. She loved gardening, traveling, flea marketing and her shop “Ruby’s Treasures”. Most of all, our “Princess” adored her family.

Survivors include her son Danny (Diane) Prater of Fremont, OH; step-children: Jackie, Carolyn, and Mark Hopkins, and Lisa Hasselbach; grandchildren: Dena Williams, Jessica (Greg) Beaverson, Jennifer (Larry) LaGro, Danny Jr. (Jenny) Prater, Ashley (Ben) Webster, and Danielle (Joe) Henderson; step- grandchildren: Corey and Jamie; great-grandchildren: Jayda, Johnney, Justice, Landon, Nevaeh, Skyler, Abby, Haven, Lila, Cole, Vivi, Ruby, Sawyer, Freya, Jesse and Roxy; as well as her great-great granddaughter Lennon and one on the way; sister Louise Adington; and her Grace Baptist family and numerous friends and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her son Gary D. Prater; husbands: Jesse Prater, Bill Hopkins, Jack Hasselbach, and Royce McQuary.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-8pm at Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Elmore-Genoa Chapel. Funeral Services will begin at 1pm Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Grace Baptist Church, Oak Harbor with Pastors Rick Bickelhaupt and Joe Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Harris-Elmore Union Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Grace Baptist Church or Donor’s Choice.
