Roxie B. Massie

Roxie B. Massie, 84, of Milan, Ohio and formerly of Port Clinton, Ohio died Monday, July 7, 2014 at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky, Ohio. She was born on July 15, 1929 in Idaho, Ohio the daughter of the late Edgar and Gracie (Lightel) Massie. On February 23, 1946 she married George Massie and he preceded her in death on June 26, 2010. Roxie worked as a waitress at the former Island House Restaurant, and also as a clerk at the former Hecks Department Store, both in Port Clinton. Her hobbies included canning, and boating on Lake Erie with her husband. Survivors include her daughters: Linda Massie, of Port Clinton and Kimberly Means Wing, of Toledo, Ohio; son: Loren Massie, of Louisville, Kentucky; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons: Mahlon Massie and Cecil Massie; infant daughter: Austa Kay Massie; granddaughter: Cara Hurt; and brothers: Homer Massie and Sherman Massie. Per Roxie's wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions may be made in Roxie's memory to the donor's choice.
