Ross Hazzard, 79, of Port Clinton, passed away at Firelands Hospital after a brief illness on Tuesday, May 2, 2023.
Ross was born on September 5, 1943 in Sandusky, OH, the son of the late Velma (Robron) and Hollis Hazzard. He was a 1960 graduate of Port Clinton High School. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley (Neill) Hazzard, brother, Richard Hazzard, and sister, Carole Fritz. He is survived by his three children Carolyn (Michael) Nitz, John (Kristin) Hazzard, and Tammy (Tim) Biniecki; and three grandchildren, Kayley Walton, Ross Hazzard, and Morgan Hazzard.
Above all else, Ross was a family man. He was known to tell anyone who would listen how proud he was of each of his children and grandchildren. He encouraged them in anything they did and gave everything of himself for them to pursue their dreams. Whether it was his words or his actions, his loved ones always knew right where they stood in his mind; he loved with his whole heart and wore his emotions on his sleeves.
Ross worked in the auto-body repair industry his whole life. He owned and operated Hazzard Body Shop on Sand Road in Port Clinton for thirty-six years. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed life to the fullest. He was always ready with a quick witted comment and a joke. He filled his free time enjoying family, working on his 1950 Oldsmobile, golfing, and fishing.
Funeral Services will begin at 11am on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Port Clinton Chapel, where the family will receive friends beginning at 10am.
