Rose Marie Dosztal

Rose Marie Dosztal, 84, passed away on May 30th due to complications from pneumonia. She had spent most of the last ten years residing in Port Clinton, alternating between her cottage near Lake Erie and her house on North Miami Place; but had lived in Fairview Park since 1961 and before that, in Shaker Heights and Cleveland with her parents. She was born March 14th, 1928 in Cleveland, the only daughter of Joseph Dosztal and Florence C. Peplinski. In 1950, she was graduated with a BFA from Heidelberg College in Tiffin. For many years, she worked as an executive secretary at the Cleveland chapter of the American Institute of Architects. Rose Marie loved cars: In 1965, she bought a new canary yellow Mustang convertible, which she kept garaged in mint condition for many years. Much later, she also bought a T-bird. Rose also loved cats and dogs and made donations to the Humane Society of Ottawa County. Rose Marie leaves behind nine first cousins: James and Susan Dosztal of Lakewood, OH; Brian and Debra Dosztal of Avon Lake, OH; Joanne Nutter of Queens, NY; Muriel Gray of Scio, OR; Nancy and Robert Gemmell of Roseville, CA; Gail Kinoshita of Maricopa, AZ and twenty-five once- or twice-removed first cousins. Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday at Neidecker-LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton, where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton.
