Rose Jensen, 92 of Elmore, OH passed away peacefully on Friday, November 11, 2022 under Hospice
Care at the home of her daughter in Perrysburg, OH, with her family by her side. She was born July 10, 1930 in
Sterling, CO to the late Jacob and Katherine (Komlofski) Rollheiser. On January 23, 1948 she married Melvin
Jensen who preceded her in death February 24, 2012. Rose was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, the
Rosary Alter Society, and V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary #8732, all of Oak Harbor. After her children were grown,
she became employed by the Benton-Carroll-Salem School District where she shared her love of cooking for
others.
Rose had a passion for cooking and gardening. She embodied the saying, “Food is the universal
language of love.” Anyone who visited her home experienced her warm hospitality and knows that you weren’t
there long before she was feeding you. Rose loved her flower gardens – they were full of life and color and
beauty, much like her. Her gardens taught you a way of life – to appreciate, to be inspired, to nurture, to live in
harmony, to love. Rose also enjoyed painting and crocheting, both done so eloquently. Each of her great
grandchildren have been given a blanket crocheted by her, and she lovingly made extra for those she will never
meet.
Rose’s true love, though, was the family that she and Mel shared. She had an abundance of love and
pride for her children. She worried constantly about them, even in her final days. She adored being a
Grandma/Grammy/Gigi. Rose was a role model for womanhood, motherhood and even a perfect grandmother.
To be loved by her was a true gift, and her pure joy and goodness is forever woven into the lives of those she
cherished most.
Rose was a kind soul and will be missed dearly by so many, but especially by her beloved family. She
is survived by her children: Frederick “Fritz” (Judy) Jensen of Oak Harbor, OH, Edward “Emmer” (Terrie)
Jensen of Elmore, OH, Christopher (Cheryl) Jensen of Bay Village, OH, and Anita (Kevin) Febrey of
Perrysburg, OH; 17 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sister-in-law Eileen
(Robert) Brossia. She was preceded in death by her siblings: John, Peter, Jacob, and Joseph Rollheiser, Anna
Kaiser, Mary Beekman, Millie Layman, and Katherine “Katie” Fisher.
Visitation will be Thursday from 2-8pm at the Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service,
Oak Harbor Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 18, 2022 at 11am at St.
Boniface Catholic Church, Oak Harbor with Rev. Timothy Ferris, Celebrant. Burial will be in Salem Twp.
Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor.
