Ronald J. Hudak, 74, of Port Clinton, Ohio, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at The Toledo Hospital, Toledo, Ohio with his family by his side. He was born on June 25, 1936 in Marblehead, Ohio to the late Joseph D. and Theresa (Ontko) Hudak. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving as a tank commander. On October 12, 1968, he married Paula Snider and she survives. Ron was formerly employed at USCO in Port Clinton as a general foreman; was court administrator for the Ottawa County Juvenile & Probate Court; and was self employed, owning his own contract painting business. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marblehead and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Port Clinton. He was a former member of the Port Clinton Yacht Club. He enjoyed sports as he was an avid Notre Dame fan and was a season ticket holder for 43 years. He was a people person and enjoyed talking, especially with his friends during their morning coffee. Most importantly, he was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Survivors include his wife: Paula; daughter: Lis (Dalton) Brand, of Port Clinton; son: Mike (Jennifer) Hudak, of Pickerington, Ohio; grandchildren: Avery, Julia, and Daniel Hudak, Casey and Wyatt Brand; sister: Charlotte (Neil) Shrock, of Marblehead; brother: Joe (Pam) Hudak, of Marblehead; sister-in-law: Joan Hudak, of Port Clinton; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister: Norma Paulsen; infant brother: Norman; and brothers: Daniel and Marvin Hudak. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 16, 2010 from 11am 1pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 Barclay Street, Marblehead, until a Mass of Christian Burial at 1pm with Reverend Daniel J. Ring, officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Marblehead. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions may be given to Magruder Hospital, the American Heart Association, the Reynoldsburg Football Program, or to the Donor's choice.
