Ronald G. Galpal

Ronald G. Galpal, 67, of Oak Harbor died Saturday, May 21, 2011 at his home. He was born August 19, 1943 in Toledo, OH to James F. and Margaret (Szakovits) Galpal. He was a 1961 graduate of Toledo Central Catholic High School. He served in the United States Air Force from 1961 1965. Ron was an Engineer for CSX Railroad retiring in 2007 after 42 years of service. He was a member of the BLE (Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers) for over 40 years and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include his sons Ronald (Dawn) Galpal of Toledo, OH and James Wernert of Denver, CO.; daughter Cheryl Toth of Oregon, OH; brother Richard Galpal of Las Vegas, NV; sisters: Pat (Ken Barnum) Bowlick of Toledo, OH and Nancy (Tom) Pfefferle of Sandusky, OH; numerous step- children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and good friend Jim Lloyd. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Linda Galpal, and son Kevin Galpal. Services will be Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at 7:30pm at the Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor. Visitation will begin Wednesday beginning at 2pm until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
