Roger D. Tucker

Roger D. "Doug" Tucker, 45, of Port Clinton, died Monday, June 25, 2012 at Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton, OH. He was born Feb. 6, 1967 in Port Clinton, the son of Roger D. and Myrtle Jean (Zess) Tucker. He was a veteran of the United States Army Airborne and Rangers serving with honors in the 101st Airborne and 82nd Airborne during the Gulf War. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton; V.F.W. Post 2480, Port Clinton and American Legion Post 113, Port Clinton. Surviving are his mother: Jean Tucker of Port Clinton; sisters: Kathleen Geckeis of Fremont, Mary (Fred) Chaffin of Port Clinton; brother: Tony Tucker of Port Clinton; good friend and uncle: Ben Tucker of Lacarne; nephews: Anthony Tucker II, Brandon Tucker; step-neice: Amy Chaffin; step-nephew: Brad Chaffin and best friend and pet: Kelly. He was preceded in death by his father: Roger D. Tucker, Sr.; grandparents: Clarence and Stella Zess and Forest and Donelda Tucker. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am Friday, June 29, 2012 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton. Burial will follow with military honors at Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be given to Stein Hospice, Immaculate Conception Church or The Humane Society of Ottawa County.
