Rodney J. "Sam" Gurko

Rodney J. “Sam” Gurko, 75, of Catawba Island, Ohio passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2022. He was born May 14, 1946 in Elizabeth, N.J. the son of the late John and Thelma (Coyle) Gurko. He married Patricia Herbst on March 7, 1986 and she survives. He served his country in the United States Army Reserves. Sam worked at General Motors in Sandusky for over 31 years retiring in 1999. He was an accomplished woodworker. Surviving are his wife: Patricia; daughters: Terri (Richard) Bellitto of Sandusky, Tina (Donald) Taylor of Elyria; grandchildren: Rick McLaughlin, Jr., Melinda (Wayne) Johnson, Krystal (Shawn) Dirnberg, Stephanie Taylor, Joshua Taylor, Devin Taylor; eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Services have been entrusted to Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Port Clinton Chapel.
