Robert W. Nicholls

Robert W. Nicholls, 91, of Catawba Island and formerly of Westlake passed away Friday, September 17, 2021. Born July 22, 1930 in England, the son of William and Lucille (Easthope) Nicholls. He was a Tool & Die Maker for Chrysler Corp. retiring in 1994. He served with the British Army in the Korean War under General MacArthur overall command of UN forces. He was one of the sole survivors of the Battle of Imjin River in Korea He was the beloved father of William Nicholls, Kristen Puntel and Amanda (James) St. Julian; loving step-father of David (Sandy) Eberlein, Barbara Eberlein, Tamara (William) Garvey, Robert (Kathleen) Eberlein, John Eberlein, Jennifer Eberlein; adored grandfather of many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife: Jean and son Thomas. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton St. Port Clinton, OH where visitation will be held Monday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Interment will be in Catawba Island Cemetery with military honors. Memorial contributions may be given to American Red Cross, 1854 E. Perry St. Suite 600, Port Clinton, OH 43452.
