Robert W. Moore

Robert William Moore, OD, 77 A much-loved father, grandfather, and brother, Robert "Doc" William Moore, 77, of Marblehead, Ohio passed away Monday, February 12 at Magruder Hospital in Port Clinton. Doc was born August 22, 1940 in Fostoria, Ohio to Berlie and Clara (Deckard) Moore. He graduated from Fostoria High School in 1958 and The Ohio State University in 1964. Doc was a wrestler throughout high school and a four-time varsity letterman in wrestling at Ohio State. On October 5, 1968 Doc married Linda L. Grashel. Doc ran his own optometry practice in Fostoria for almost 50 years. He began coming to Marblehead as a child with his parents and siblings and made it his permanent home after retiring. Doc enjoyed boating, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. Doc is survived by his children: Kristi L. Lorenz (Joel), Robert W. Moore II (Sarah Joy) both of Marblehead, OH; three grandchildren: Charlie A. Lorenz, Robert W. Moore III and Clara A. Moore; siblings: Jim Moore (Clyde Huffman), Pat Macko (Jim), Paul Moore (Harriet Dieter) and brother in law: Roger Grashel (Carol Berry). He was preceded in death by his wife Linda and his parents. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 24 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 E. Harbor Rd, Marblehead, Ohio 43440. A private internment ceremony will follow at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lions Club.
