Robert T. Darr

Robert T. Darr, 86, of Toledo, OH, died Saturday morning at the University of Toledo Medical Center, Toledo, OH. He was born in Port Clinton, OH, on December 3, 1921, a son of the late William J. & Clara L. (Kessler) Darr. Mr. Darr was a design engineer for General Motors in Detroit, MI, retiring in 1986. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Toledo, OH. On December 5, 1942, he married the former Mary I. Earl, and she preceded him in death on April 9, 2006 after 63 years of marriage. Mr. Darr is survived by his children, Thomas Darr, Gainesville, VA, Larry Darr, Northwood, OH, Michael Darr, St. Clair Shores, MI, Rita Thornton, Mission Viejo, CA, and Elizabeth Olin, Toledo, OH; sisters, Monica Steindam and Margaret Steindam, both of Oak Harbor, OH; 18 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Darr, Jr.; brothers, William and Donald Darr; and sisters, Angela Steindam, Patricia Wingart, and Rita Guth. The family will receive friends after 10:00 A.M. Monday at the Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor.
