Robert O. Oberhaus, 96, of Lakeside, OH and formerly of Oak Harbor, OH passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, OH. He was born January 15, 1925 in Martin, OH the son of Otto J. and Alma (Heltebrake) Oberhaus. He married Donna F. Schuster on November 16, 1946 and she preceded him in death on July 4, 2012. Robert was a United States Navy Veteran serving on an Aircraft Carrier in World War II. He worked for Kroger’s for 42 years in the produce and deli departments retiring in 1989. He previously worked for the Oak Harbor Police Department and served on the Oak Harbor Fire Department. He was the union representative for Retail Clerks Union of Toledo and a member of American Legion Post 114, Oak Harbor, OH. He was an active member of both Oak Harbor United Methodist Church and Lakeside United Methodist Church. Bob and Donna traveled all 50 states and enjoyed many cruises. Surviving are his daughter: Vicki (Ted) Fillmore of Catawba Island; son: Scott (Carol) Oberhaus of Houston, TX; grandchildren: Tiffany Marshall, Rhanda Fillmore, Lee Ellen (Jeff) Rooks; great-grandchildren: Nathan Morris, Gavin Morris, Shafer Rooks; sisters: Donjean Smith of Liberty Center, OH and Dorothea “Dort” Anderson of Toledo, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother: Leonard Oberhaus; sisters: Betty Jane Strohmaier and Thelma Knapp. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 25, 2021 from 12:00 noon – 4:00 pm at Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 301 N. Locust St. Oak Harbor, OH. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Monday, July 26, 2021 at Oak Harbor United Methodist Church, 360 E. Ottawa St. Oak Harbor with Rev. Robert Manter officiating. Interment will follow in Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor, OH. Memorial contributions may be given to the Oak Harbor Food Pantry or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
