Robert L. Fleming, 83, of Port Clinton, Ohio passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky, Ohio. He was born on May 5, 1932 in Buena Vista, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Robert and Emma (Sutton) Fleming. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Joanne (Hofacker) Fleming. Robert was a veteran of the United States Air Force, and a long standing member of the Port Clinton Elks Lodge 1718, Port Clinton Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 1610, as well as the American Legion. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and traveling. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his loving wife: Joanne; children: Kimberly Nigem, Toledo, Ohio; Gregory Fleming and wife Lissa Shults, Hawaii; William (Tessy) Fleming, Dayton, Ohio; Kelley (Jon) Jacobs, Johns Creek, Georgia; grandchildren: Nick (Rand) Nigem, Thomas Nigem, Alex Fleming, Christopher Fleming, Abigail and Sam Jacobs; step-grandchildren: Anntonia, Nick, and Vasiliki Smith, Jonathan and Patrick Carroll; sister: Ruth Ann Hartman, Allen Port, Pennsylvania; sister-in-law: Louise Worthington; brothers-in- law: Ronald (Marleen) Hofacker, William Freimark, Eugene (Jessie) Hofacker, Gilbert Hofacker, and Donald Hipp. Visitation will be held at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton, on Saturday, January 30, 2016 from 1:30 until Memorial Services at 3:30pm with Pastor Tony Setley officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice, Ottawa County Museum, ALS Association, or the Alzheimer's Association.
