Robert J. Babjack (Bob), 93 of Elmore, OH (formerly of Rossford, OH) died Sunday, October 2, 2022 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. He was born December 12, 1928 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Joseph and Anna (Rander) Babjack. On August 31, 1950 he married his sweetheart, the former Jean D. Silvat who preceded him in death on August 16, 2008. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Genoa, OH.
Bob began his professional career as a machinist and transitioned to the glass industry where he traveled throughout the world for Owens-Illinois and retired in 1990. He was an avid Steelers, Pirates and Nittany Lions fan. Bob had a passion for auto racing and took pride in restoring vintage cars. A favorite pastime in retirement was to hang out with his buddies at the Rossford Donut Shop and Tim Horton’s.
Survivors include his children: Robert (Marie) Babjack of Elmore, OH and Amy (David) Ilconich of Cochranville, PA; and son-in-law Ray Youngs; grandchildren: John (Andrea) Babjack, Michelle (Isaac) Moreno, David Babjack, Mark Babjack, Kristen (Tommy) Shannon, Molly (Russ) Maier, Haley Ilconich, Melody (Bridget) Richter, and Vincent Youngs; great- grandchildren: Ben Moreno, Harmony Youngs, Matthew Babjack, Jovie Moreno, Clara Babjack, Ellie Shannon and Etta Maier; and dear friend Doris Fleetwood. He was also preceded in death by a daughter Judy Youngs and sister Dorothy Kogut.
Bob was the eternal optimist and had a passion for family and life. HIS FAMOUS SAYINGS WERE: “It’s all good toots”, “No problem” and “Bada bing bada boom”!!
Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-7:30 PM at Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Elmore-Genoa Chapel, where a parish wake service will be held at 7:30 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 6, 2022 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Genoa. Interment will be at Harris-Elmore Union Cemetery, Elmore, OH.
