Robert G. "Rod" Wolf

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of our beloved husband and father Robert G. “Rod” Wolf, who left us on April 3, 2023 at the Genoa Care Center under Hospice care. He was 86 years old and had spent his life caring for his family. Born November 21, 1936, at home in Oak Harbor, OH, Rod was the son of the late Virgil and Addie (Cardozy) Wolf. He was a 1954 graduate of Oak Harbor High School. On December 6, 1958 he married the former Geraldine Goetz, and she survives. He worked for New York Central Railroad, and retired in 2003 from Sun Oil Refinery, Toledo. On He had a keen interest in fishing, horse racing, Buckeye football, and enjoyed a good Manhattan. He was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Geraldine; his children: James (Becky) Wolf, Susan (James) Dages, Sandra (Michael) ODonnell, Barbara (Dan) Bacak, Cheryl Wolf and Teresa Wolf; his grandchildren: Sam and Ben Szpak, Adam Tatlock, Alicia Bacak, Whitney, Amber and Jay Dages, Zachary and Kevin Wolf, Ryan and Mason McDougall: a pack of great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law Lavonne Goetz. He was also preceded in death by his brother Bill Wolf and sister, Betty Leiser.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2023 from 2-6pm at the Eagles Nest Hall, 210 Jefferson St., Oak Harbor, OH 43449. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Mid-County E.M.S. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed, but he will always be in our hearts. May his soul rest in peace.
