Robert G. Luda

Robert G. Luda, 63, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, and formerly of Toledo, Ohio, died Wednesday evening at his home. He was born in Toledo on October 24, 1947, a son of John & Ann (Dolly) (Duris) Luda. Mr. Luda was a quality control engineer for the Chrysler Corporation in Toledo for 35 years, retiring in 2004. An avid angler, he also enjoyed his motorcycle in recent years and coaching several sports teams. Mr. Luda was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Oak Harbor, and was a former member of the Red Horse unit of the U.S. Air Force Reserves. He is survived by his wife, the former Janet G. Ferguson; son, Stephen Luda, Walled Lake, Michigan; daughter, Kristie Luda, Chicago, Illinois; step-daughter, Amy Bond, Fremont, Ohio, and Teresa Dazell Heninger, Toledo; brothers, John (Ellen) Luda, Cape Coral, Florida, Alan Luda, Doral, Florida; sister, Diane (Andy) Petro, Oregon, Ohio; grandchildren, Christopher Hilt, Jr., Aisha Hamdallah, Shane Connor Oneail, and Aladdin Hamdallah. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, and a step son, Jerry Dazell, Jr. The family will receive friends from 2-8 P.M. Sunday at Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor, where a parish wake service will be held at 7 P.M. on Sunday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. David L. Ritchie at 10:30 A.M. Monday at St. Boniface Church, Oak Harbor. Interment will be in Salem Township Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the American Cancer Society.
