Robert E. Reighn, 80, of Oak Harbor, OH, passed away Friday, January 5, 2018 at Riverview Health Care Campus, Oak Harbor. He was born in Camden, NJ on February 14, 1937, a son of the late Benjamin S. & Mae Elizabeth Reighn. Bob was a resident and student at the Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, and after leaving school, joined the U.S. Army which became his career. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and was stationed at many bases in Germany and the U.S. Bob was a missile calibration specialist and continued in that capacity after his retirement from the Army with the Federal Civil Service for 21 years, retiring in 2000. Known as "Sarge" to his family, Bobs organizational skills made him "leader of the pack". He was an avid reader, particularly of historical books and articles. Bob was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. and was also a member of the American Legion at posts in Pennsylvania. He is survived by his former wife, Pat (Linder) Reighn; daughters, Debra (Frank) DiMasso, Lisa (Rick) Hetrick, and Diane (Tom) Harder, all of Oak Harbor; brother, Charles "Chuck" Reighn, Pennsylvania; sister, Ginny Bagnato, Philadelphia, PA; grandchildren, Kara DiMasso, Jennifer Wilkins, Ryan Hetrick, and Kristen DiMasso; and great-grandchildren, Parker Wilkins, and Kennedy Grotz. Bob was preceded in death by brothers, Benjamin, Norman, Daniel, William, and Jonas Reighn, and a sister, Alice. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Rev. David A. Voll will officiate, and military graveside rites will be provided by V.F.W. Post #8732, and American Legion Post #114. Following the services, a luncheon will be held at St Paul United Church of Christ, 165 Toussaint St., Oak Harbor.
