Robert E. "Bob" Edwards, Sr.

Robert E. "Bob" Edwards, Sr., 80, of Port Clinton, Ohio passed away on Monday, June 18, 2018 at Riverview Healthcare Center, Oak Harbor, Ohio in the arms of his loving wife, Eunice. He was born on August 5, 1937 in Port Clinton, a son of the late Jack N. and Clara M. (Jeremy) Edwards. He married Eunice L. Wilburn on July 19, 1954 and she survives. Bob founded R. E. Edwards & Sons Pest Control in 1971 and was the owner and operator until 1985 when the business was taken over by his son Bob Jr. and it became Edwards Pest Control. Prior to that Bob was a route supervisor for Tofts Dairy out of Sandusky, Ohio for over 17 years. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Port Clinton. Other member ships included the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #1610, Port Clinton; Port Clinton Elks Lodge #1718; Port Clinton Yacht Club; and Oliver H. Perry Masonic Lodge #341 where he served as Past Master. Aside from being actively involved in these organizations, he enjoyed duck hunting, fishing, and target shooting at Camp Perry. Survivors include his sons, Robert E. (Gina Seymour) Edwards, Jr., Port Clinton, Norman (Kara) Edwards, Oregon, Ohio and Gary Edwards, Port Clinton; granddaughters, Meghan (Brad) Kirk, Katie (Joel) Shultz and Emily Edwards; great-grandson, Branson Kirk, and baby Shultz on the way; and step-grandson, Sean Barnett. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother. Visitation will be held at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton, Ohio on Thursday, June 21, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm with Masonic services being held at 6:00 and Elks services being held at 6:30. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, June 22, 2018 at 10:00 am with Father John C. Missler officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Port Clinton.
