Rita Rae Ray

Rita Rae Ray, 58, of Graytown, OH died unexpectedly Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at her home. She was born February 19, 1952 in Martin, OH to the late Raymond and Violet (Morris) Barnes. She then spent most of her childhood at Flatrock Children's Home in Bellevue, OH. She was a 1970 graduate of Westerville High School, Westerville, OH. On May 22, 1971 she married Robert Ray. Mrs. Ray was a homemaker and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church Rocky Ridge. She was a member of Rocky Ridge Fire Department Auxiliary for many years. Rita enjoyed playing bingo, card games, trivia games, crossword puzzles, reading, sewing, and watching Detective shows. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband Robert Ray of Graytown; son Robert (Barbara) Ray of Slanesville, W.VA.; daughters: Marguerite Rae (Gregg) Troknya of Oak Harbor, OH and Jennifer (David) Fillmore of Rocky Ridge, OH; grandchildren: Shawna, DJ, Justin, Zane, Kathryne, Haley, Derek, Dean III, Brandon, and Lane; brothers: Raymond "Bruce" (Konni) Barnes of Aurora, ILL and Franklin Barnes of Marion, OH; sister Susan (Joe) Trehan of Toledo, OH; foster mother Marguerite Carroll of Westerville, OH; mother- in- law Laura Irene Ray of Rocky Ridge; foster brothers and sisters: Martin Rosensteel, Martha Hill, Carolyn Pincheff, and Jeannie Perry; several nieces and nephews and her dog Nika. She was preceded in death by half-brothers: Harold, Gerald, Bob, Alan, Charles, and Donald. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8pm and again from 2-4 & 6-8pm Friday at the Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor. Funeral Services will be Saturday, July 17, 2010 at 11am at the Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Smith officiating. Burial will be in Elliston Cemetery, Elliston, OH.
