Richard W. Sneary

Richard W. Sneary, 101, of Port Clinton, OH passed away Sunday, July 21, 2024 at Riverview Health Care Campus, Oak Harbor, OH. He was born November 27, 1922 in Lima, OH the son of John L. and Frances (Elllwell) Sneary. He married M. Eleanor (Shelley) Keller on May 25, 1946 and she preceded him in death on January 11, 2015. Richard worked for Leo Marks Jewelers as a watch repairman retiring in 1984. He served in the US Army in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Port Clinton. He was a member of Port Clinton Kiwanis for 75 years, a member of Port Clinton Elks, Port Clinton V.F.W., Port Clinton Eagles, Port Clinton American Legion and a founding member of the Port Clinton Ducks Unlimited. He maintained the Ottawa County Courthouse tower clock for 28 years and he enjoyed watch repairing as a hobby.

Surviving are his daughters: Jacque (John) Keller-Schafer of Sarasota, FL, Carla (Dennis) Wagner of Port Clinton; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two grandsons and sister: Mary Taylor.

Private graveside services were held at Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH. Memorial contributions may be given to Trinity United Methodist Church.
