Richard S. Brown, 56, of Catawba Island, died November 19, 2009 at his residence. He was born Jan 28, 1953 in Columbus, OH. Richard was a deck hand on Lake Freighters for the Oglebay-Norton Boat Lines. He was a United States Coast Guard Veteran and a Merchant Marine. He was a member of Friends of Bill who was also active as a drug and alcohol abuse counselor in Huron County. He loved being in the outdoors especially fishing. He enjoyed spending time with his kids, grandchildren, family and friends. Surviving are his mother and step-father: Bob and Ginny Brown of Marblehead; daughters: Heather Rex of Sulphur Springs, OH, Naomi Branham of Bellevue; sons: Michael Brown of Norwalk, William Reece of Roger City, MI; brother: Douglas J. (Lori) Brown; sisters: Vickie M. (Dan) Kukay, Anita (Ted) Patrick, Laura A. (D'Arcy) Brown-Egan all of Marblehead; step-brother: Robert E. (Anne) Brown of Marblehead; step-sister: Cheryl Lynn Brown of Morgantown, WV; grandchildren: Liz, Lauren, Michelle, Jesse and Hunter. Funeral services will be Noon Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 East Harbor Road, Marblehead, OH where visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Rev. Lisa Petersen will officiate. Memorial contributions may be given to the donor's choice.
