Richard R. Blazey

Richard R. Blazey, 71, of Port Clinton, Ohio died Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at his residence with his family by his side. He was born on February 24, 1940 in Toledo, Ohio, the son of the late Leo and Helen (Brescol) Blazey. He married Nancy Jones on November 25, 1962 and she preceded him in death on July 18, 2002. Richard worked for the City of Toledo at the Sanitation Department until his retirement in 1994. He was a member of the Oak Harbor Conservation Club and a former member of the Port Clinton Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #1610. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and enjoyed boating and being out on the water. However, his greatest enjoyment was his family, especially his children, grandchildren, and great grandsons. Survivors include his daughters: Gail (Randy) Majewski and Charlene Blazey, both of Port Clinton; son: Gerry R. Blazey, of Northville, Michigan; grandchildren: James Richard, Amanda, Joshua, and Kayla; great grandsons: Caleb and Camden; and sister: Patricia Hawkins, of Oregon. Per Richard's request, there will be no visitation or services as cremation has taken place.
