Richard H. Neeb

Richard H. Neeb, Sr., 81, of Elmore, OH, died Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, OH. He was born in Lindsey, OH, on January 31, 1925, a son of the late Howard & Verna (Arnold) Neeb. For many years, Dick was the owner and operator of the former Neeb Motors in Elmore which was founded by his father. He was also employed by the Village of Elmore for 10 years, retiring in 1995. A U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, Dick was a member of American Legion Post #279, Elmore. He also was an active member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Elmore, where he served on the church council. Dick was also a former member of the Elmore Village Council. Dick enjoyed life, spending time with his family, and was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan. On May 17, 1952, he married the former Dolores Cassidy, and she survives. Also surviving are his sons, Richard (DeAnna) Neeb, Jr., Elmore, Jay (Patty) Neeb, Woodville, OH; daughters, Nancy (Charles) Almroth, Janet Dussel, Beth Shank, and Debi (Bob) Herrig, all of Elmore; brother, Paul Neeb, Saline, MI; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and his dog, Alfie. He was preceded in death by a brother, Louis Neeb, and a sister, Donna Depner. The family will receive friends from 2-9 P.M. Tuesday at the Crosser Funeral Home, Elmore. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at St. John’s United Church of Christ, Elmore, with the Rev. Ed Heilman officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Elmore, where American Legion Post #279 will conduct military graveside rites.
