Richard H. Comings

Richard H. “Rick” Comings, 79, of Marblehead, OH died Sunday, March 13, 2022, at Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky, OH. He was born March 4, 1943 in Oberlin, OH to the late Fred and Jeannette (Inscho) Comings. Rick was a 1961 graduate of Oberlin High School and received his Bachelor of Science in Business from Ashland College. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. On July 10, 1965, he married the former Beverly Baird and she survives. Richard was a real-estate broker who owned Smith's Realty in Lakeside, OH from 1981 until his retirement in 2007. Other community memberships include: Marblehead V.F.W., Kiwanis, Chamber of Commerce, Magruder Hospital Board of Directors, Lakeside Methodist Men, and the Ottawa County Board of MRDD. He loved doing anything on the water and was an avid Cleveland Indians fan. Survivors include his wife of 56 years Beverly of Marblehead; children: Carol (Tony) Rea of Waterville, OH, and Michael (Jennifer) Comings of Marblehead; grandchildren: Maddy Rea, AJ Rea, Tyler MacDonald, and Jacob MacDonald; and brother Sidney “Sid” Comings of Oberlin. He was also preceded in death by an infant sister Carol Comings. There will be no services at this time for Richard, as cremation has taken place under the direction of the Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel. A memorial service will be held this summer. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution are asked to consider Lakeside Chatauqua Foundation Restricted Fund in memory of Richard Comings.
