Richard G. Myers

Richard Garland Myers, 86 of Lakeside - Marblehead, Ohio passed away January 12, 2023 at Otterbein North Shore Community. He was born August 5, 1936 in Barberton, Ohio to the late Garland Richard and Beulah Myers.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Thornton Myers; daughters Pamela (Myron) Vanness of Oxford, Ohio and Marjan "Maggie" (Luigi Iafano) Myers of Livonia, Michigan; grandchildren David Ian (Shawn) Vanness of Sommerville, Ohio and Ashley (Willie) Lucas of Oxford, Ohio; great-grandchildren Audrina Lucas, Willie Lucas Jr. and Calvin Vanness.

Richard received a degree in 1958 from Heidelberg College in Tiffin, Ohio. In 1963 he received a certificate from the University of Chicago's College of Advanced Traffic. He had attended Ohio University in Athens, Ohio pursuing a M.Ed. Degree.

He was the owner/CEO of G. R. Myers Motor Transportation Inc. Barberton, Ohio; taught for various Boards of Education in Ohio; and briefly worked with MRDD clients in Lucas County.

Richard was a member of The Episcopal Church. Memorial services will be 11:00 am Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Grace Episcopal Church 315 Wayne St, Sandusky, OH with Fr. Seth Wymer officiating. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.neideckercrosserpriesman.com .
