Richard G. Chapman, 75, of Port Clinton, died Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Edgewood Manor Nursing Center, Port Clinton, OH. He was born August 29, 1941 the son of Dr. Glenn P. and Pauline (Smith) Chapman. A 1959 graduate of Port Clinton High School, Richard received a degree in Mechanical Engineering from The Ohio State University in 1964. After 10 years of selling heavy equipment for Ingersole - Rand then Dravo Marks Co. Richard found as new passion and started his long career in real estate sales. Quickly becoming a Real Estate Broker and opening P & R Chapman Realty in 1978 with his wife Priscilla. He held the highest appraiser license as a Commercial General Real Estate Appraiser. He loved the work and was still listing and selling homes days before his death. In his time in Port Clinton, he was a member of Lions, Moose, and Artist Clubs, a long time Toastmaster and Playmakers member. He was elected to the Port Clinton School Board and Port Clinton City Council. On June 12, 1960 he married Priscilla R. Everett (surviving) and they had 5 children. Prisca (Timothy) Twardzik, Dr. Richard S. (Ann) Chapman, Gigi (Thomas) Day, Dr. Glenn (Sarah) Chapman, II, Chandler (Missy) Chapman. He is also survived by his 13 grandchildren and siblings: Roland Chapman, Carol Below, James (Carla) Chapman, Mary Below, William (Sue) Chapman and girlfriend Victoria Orosco. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother: Gordon M. Chapman. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, May 20, 2017 a Peace Lutheran Church in Port Clinton.
