Richard E. Rickle

Richard E. Rickle, 84, of Oak Harbor, OH, and formerly of Carey, OH, died Friday, October 8, 2010 at the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky, OH. He was born on June 5, 1926 in Carey, a son of the late Addison & Lalia (Brashares) Rickle. Richard was a graduate of Carey High School and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific. He owned and operated a milk route for 19 years and was the Shell Oil distributor for Wyandot County. Richard also farmed for many years and moved to Oak Harbor in 2004 to be closer to his family. He was a member of the American Legion and LaPointe United Methodist Church. On October 15, 1949, he married the former Patricia A. Keck, and she survives. Also surviving is his daughter, Diane (Don) LaFountain, Oak Harbor; grandsons, John (Angie) LaFountain, Elmore, OH and Jason (Roxanne) LaFountain, Oak Harbor. Richard is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Dylan, Bailey, and John. There will be no services.
