Richard E. Coyle

Richard E. “Dick” Coyle, 80, of Port Clinton, OH died Thursday, January 19, 2006 at Stein Hospice, Sandusky, OH. He was born August 9, 1925 in Louisville, KY. He married Patsy Berkheimer on November 27, 1948 and she preceded him in death in September of 1978. He married Sue Ann Van Rensselaer on November 21, 1981 and she survives. Mr. Coyle was a loan officer for the former American Bank and also Society Bank retiring in 1978. He was a United States Army Veteran serving during World War II. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton, Port Clinton Rotary Club where he was a past president, Elks Lodge 1718 Port Clinton, Oliver E. Perry Lodge F & A M, Port Clinton Yacht Club where he is a past commodore, Colonial Club, Catawba Island Club, and he was active in Girl Scouts for 25 years serving as treasurer for the district. He enjoyed golfing and fishing. Surviving are his wife: Sue Ann; daughters: Deborah (Vic) Hershey-Carder of Naples, FL, Pamela (William) Coyle-Toerner of Cincinatti, OH, step-sons: Brian (Amy) Weibel of Tupelo, MS, Ken Weibel of Port Clinton, Robert Weibel of Port Clinton; grandchildren: Patrick and Ian Coyle-Toerner; step-grandchildren: Cloe and Evan Weibel and Erin Carder. He was preceded in death by his first wife: Patsy and brothers: William Coyle and Babe Blair. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Saturday, January 21, 2006 at St. John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton. Visitation will be held Friday from 5:00 – 9:00 pm at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton. Memorial contributions may be given to Habitat for Humanity or Stein Hospice.
