Rev. Walter N. Holmes,

Rev. Walter N. Holmes, 84, of Marblehead, OH passed away Friday, August 18, 2023 at University Hospital, Cleveland, OH. He was born August 23, 1938 in Keokee, VA the son of Newton Roscoe and Frankie Elizabeth (Bledsoe) Holmes. He married Mildred (Bishop) Minton in 1962 and she preceded him in death in 2014. Rev. Holmes preached the Word of God for over 50 years and spent 45 years as a missionary in Haiti. While in Haiti he ran an orphanage, several medical clinics and churches and helped many children to come to the United States. He will be remembered for his humor, kindness and willingness to help anyone. He was an avid hunter and a member and founder of Community Church/Seed Faith Mission.

Surviving are his children: Allen E. (Kim) Minton, Harold G. (Tammy) Minton, Mary E. (Wayne) Ball, Connie (Mike) Brooks, Frankie Marie (Phillip) Berry, Douglas (Mary) Holmes, Linda A. (Steve) Brooks, Johnny Barker all of Marblehead, OH; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife: Mildred, son: Walter N. “Bunny”

Holmes, Jr.; siblings: Tom Holmes, Stanley Holmes, Nadene McMurray and Bobbie Henley.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 am – 3:30 pm Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 E. Harbor Rd. Lakeside-Marblehead, OH with funeral services in the funeral home on Wednesday August 30, 2023 starting at 3:30 pm. followed by a luncheon at Danbury Shelter House 5972 Port Clinton Eastern Rd. Marblehead. Rev. Charles Marcum will be officiating, longtime friend and fellow missionary, Dave Stinchcomb will reflect on his mission work and The Pauley Duet will perform two songs and son-in-law Phillip Berry will dedicate a song to him.
