Rev. Vidya S. Rampal

Reverend Vidya S. Rampal, 81, of Danbury Township, died Monday, July 10, 2006 at his residence. He was born on October 25, 1924 in Hoshiarpur, India. He married Shirley Rampal in 1955 and she preceded him in death on July 12, 1979. He married Elaine Adkins on September 16, 1994 and she preceded him in death on August 25, 1995. Rev. Rampal was a minister for the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church, retiring in 1990. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Port Clinton, where he served for many years. He was an Indian Army veteran serving in World War II with the British. Surviving is his son, Joel Rampal of Huntsville, NC; grandchildren, Joanna, Jennifer and Lauren Rampal. He was preceded in death by his second wife Elaine, first wife: Shirley and children Jonathan and Joanna Rampal. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 14, 2006 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Port Clinton, where the family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Rev. Bruce Batchelor-Glader and Rev. Robert Hahn will officiate and interment will be in Old Mission Cemetery, Upper Sandusky, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church.
