Rev. Theodore T. Stellhorn

Rev. Theodore T. Stellhorn, III, 82, was born August 14, 1933, the son of the Rev. Theodore and Cordelia (Doelker) Stellhorn, Jr. in Sandusky, Ohio. He died Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at home, where he resided for the past 19 years. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Marblehead, Ohio. A son of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sandusky, Ohio, he was ordained into the Christian Ministry on June 14, 1959. He served for 5 years as founding pastor of Epiphany Lutheran Church, Dayton, Ohio and for 31 as senior pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, St. Marys, Ohio, until his retirement in 1996. He remained active, serving on Synod Council for a number of terms and as a Sunday Supply Pastor for many congregations in the Northwestern Ohio Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. He was also a Past-President of the Rotary Club in St. Marys and was currently a member of Rotary in Port Clinton. He is survived by his wife Margaret of Marblehead; his daughter Rebekah (Paul) Wernsing of Cincinnati; son Stephen (Paula) Stellhorn of Sandusky; six grandchildrenRyan, Lauren, Katie and Emily Stellhorn, and Peter (Dallas) and Benjamin Wernsing, and a great-granddaughter Anora Wernsing; his step-mother Laura Stellhorn, a sister Jenny (Robert) Dodson, and two nieces. The Service of Celebration of the Resurrection will be held 11:00 am Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church, 503 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, OH with Pastor Christina Young officiating, Pastor Ralph Schibler preaching and Bishop Marcus Lohrmann presiding at Eucharist. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place 11:00 am Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at Sackett Cemetery, Danbury Township. Visitation will be held Friday, September 4, 2015 from 2:00 4:00 and 6:00 8:00 pm at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 E. Harbor Rd.
